The pony has to make it to the two holly trees on time for a party. She meets loads of creatures of the Lady's Combe. So let's get going then, or you will be late for the party!

So Enjoy!!

Chapter one

Sky's Start

Long ago, in Lady's Combe there lived an Exmoor pony named Sky. She was a sparkling, chestnut pony with a white blaze coming down her nose. She lived with her pony friends at Dead Woman's Ditch.

Sky was on her way to her best friend Lavender's party which was at 3:00pm. It was held at the two holly trees, right at the end of the track.
“I must leave now,” she shouted to her best friends from across the road, as she set off to the party.

As Sky trotted through the twisted oak trees, she trampled all over the pretty and shiny, emerald green Star Moss. She carried on along the muddy path, then she passed by a squirrel, sitting comfortably on a log beside the path. Normally squirrels would run away, but this one didn't, for some reason!

Chapter two

The Gift

Suddenly, Sky found a lovely, sweet smelling piece of lavender by the side of a large gutter, she guest it would be a great gift for Lavender because she loved the smell of Lavender. She carefully picked it up with her mouth; she jumped right over to the other side of the gutter, with a huge leap.

Then Sky looked back to see if anything would happen because this morning she had felt a bit weary. Something did happen, flowing water filled up the gutter.
“That's strange,” she whispered to herself, under her breath. She ignored the river and carried down to the track to the party.

"Of course it's strange, it's a magical wood. Ha, ha,” a voice called to her as Sky walked on down the muddy path. Of course, she did not know that it was a squirrel that spoke to her!

Chapter three

The Loss For Sky

Sky was trotting hurriedly down the hill in a rush to get to the party on time.
“I'm going to be late, I'm going to be late,” she muttered to herself. As Sky was trotting, she noticed that her piece of lavender had gone!

Sky looked down upon her feet and saw that the lavender had fallen on her hoof.
“Oh no, that's my lavender! Now I can't take it because my hoof is all muddy from the track” said Sky in a panicky voice.

She could hear a squirrel laughing at her for no reason up in the witch's broom that was an epicormic growth; Sky had to find the ent because he would always grant wishes. The ent was a walking oak tree with its own personality; some people thought that anything could be inside the ent.

Chapter four

The Ent

Sky trotted off the track to find the ent but she couldn't, “Ent. ENT where are you?” Sky called to him, as she walked back on to the track. “ent can you give me a small bush of lavender,” Sky shouted up to the ent.

“Yes off course, but who for?” the ent replied in dark, curious voice.
“For Lavender please,” Sky said to the ent, waiting to go.
The ent gave the Sky the smallest piece of Lavender he could find. She cantered down the hill to get to the party on time, (although Sky is never late to a party at the two holly trees.)

Chapter five

There At Last

Soon Sky had to gallop the rest of the way as fast as she could, to get to the party on time. Eventually, she had made it to the holly trees in time for the party.
“At last I've made it,” Sky said to Lavender when she arrived at the party.

“Of course you've made it, the party had just started,” Lavender replied in a squeaky voice. After they had all danced, Lavender opened her presents. Finally she opened the present from Sky;

“Oh, I love Lavender, thank-you” Lavender said in a tiny voice. Sky put the music on and they all danced till the break of dawn.
“This has been the best day of my life!!” Lavender called to everyone.
